Founder & Managing Advocate

Trevor Mweresa

Advocate, High Court of Kenya

Trevor is the founder of MWERESA TREVOR & CO. ADVOCATES, leading the firm's work at the intersection of law, business, and technology.

  • Commercial law
  • Corporate advisory
  • Data governance
  • AI and legal systems

Trevor Mweresa is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and the founder of MWERESA TREVOR & CO. ADVOCATES, a modern legal practice focused on the intersection of law, business and technology, with a particular focus on Legal Automation, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data Governance in Africa.

His career has taken him through private practice, in-house legal departments and public-sector legal research, advising businesses and institutions across corporate and commercial law, regulatory compliance, employment, data protection and dispute resolution.

Trevor has long utilised technology in his legal work and has seen first-hand how the right systems can improve the way legal teams work. Over time, however, he began to question why African businesses should simply adopt technologies built around processes, experiences and environments elsewhere. He believes we can build our own systems designed around the realities of our businesses, our legal environments and the way we actually work.

That belief is at the heart of his approach to legal automation: combining legal expertise and technology to create practical systems that improve efficiency while preserving human judgment, legal oversight and accountability.

Mary Wafula is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, holds an LLB, and is a Certified Mediator.

Before joining the firm, Mary practised litigation at one of Kenya's leading top-tier law firms, where she built a reputation as a zealous, detail-driven litigator who fights hard for her clients while keeping sight of practical, business-focused outcomes.

Mary now leads the firm's litigation team, representing clients in commercial disputes, shareholder disputes and regulatory matters before the High Court and other tribunals. Her training in mediation means she is equally comfortable steering a dispute toward a negotiated resolution when that best serves the client.

She is committed to the same client-first philosophy that anchors the firm: clear communication, transparent costing, and legal advice that is genuinely useful to the way the client's business runs.

Beatrice Jemosop is the Legal & Dispute Resolution Associate at MWERESA TREVOR & COMPANY ADVOCATES, bringing together legal training, mediation, and hands-on experience across litigation support, governance, and compliance.

As a Certified Professional Mediator, her focus is helping parties reach practical, negotiated outcomes before disputes escalate, spotting early where mediation offers a faster, less adversarial path than litigation, and guiding that process from the outset.

She brings a structured, detail-oriented approach to every matter, paired with careful listening and a close read of what each party is actually trying to achieve, so that resolutions hold up in practice and not just on paper.
